Welcome To Nature’s Choice Nursery:

Nature’s Choice Nursery is a division of Nature’s Choice Farms, LLC dedicated to  supplying premium gardening plants, flowers, shrubs, tree’s and gardening supplies.

The Nursery division was born out of necessity. Long before we started the nursery we had real estate investments that require landscaping from time to time. We purchased landscaping products from the large retailers to find out when you have to buy a plant twice.. because the first one died.. buying plants gets real expensive.

In addition to buying landscaping plants we have a large family we need to feed daily. Our goal in raising a garden was to eat fresh vegetables and to save money on our grocery bill.

What we found out was by the time we paid high prices for our plants and other gardening accessories.. we didn’t save much money and we expended a lot of hard work keeping up the garden.

The worst thing about this whole process… were the quality of plants we purchased. Out of necessity, we again set out on a research project to find and raise our own plants that would be of premium quality for about the same money.

If we were going to pay high prices for plants.. we wanted the best plants we could get. Premium plants meant we would not need as many to get the same yield of vegetables.

Moreover, we wanted plants that would produce organic vegetables. Moreover, using our own mix of top soil and natural compost we created on the farm. In other words, we didn’t want to use chemicals to grow our food source.

Hummm, we wanted to know how to use what we had on the farm.. to grow our vegetables. Our answer was: use what comes out the back end of the cow (nitrogen) and mix it with mulch (carbon) and we had the makings of the best dry compost God ever created.

With a lot of research and hard work we have accomplished our goals. When we found a way to grow a premium food source we were fairly satisfied with. But, not being able to leave things alone the idea hit us … I will bet others might want some of our plants too.

There were certain facts that were obvious from the beginning:

Being a small farm we know we can’t mass produce premium quality plants for everyone. We knew could not compete with the discount chains. This was good. Because we also know, most people won’t pay for quality. The main fact we knew was the majority of folks shop by price alone.

All of the stars were coming into alignment.

We know there are only a few  people who give a damn.. about their families health, and nutrition over their wallets. We also know that there are only a few who can do enough math to figure out if you only need 6 premium tomato plants to feed your family instead of 10 at the discount stores.. over all you pay less.

At Nature’s Choice Nursery we know not everyone needs their gardening plants at the same time. In the south, the growing season starts a lot sooner than say in Northern Ohio.

To make this process simple we take your order before you need the plants. With pre-ordering we don’t have to wonder how many plants to grow thereby eliminating a lot of waste.

Premium Plants… at reduced cost.. What a Concept!

This is how Nature’s Choice Nursery evolved. But that’s not the end of the story:

Not only did we want the best vegetables.. but we also wanted the best meat possible to feed our family.

So, before the Nursery idea came about we were introduced to the idea of pastured poultry.  There are two aspects to pastured poultry: 1) meat and 2) eggs.
